Overview
The Mullerthal Trail runs for kilometres, and most of it is ordinary forest. This walk skips that. Your licensed guide takes you only where the rock earns the time: the mossy corridors of the Berdorf rock labyrinth, the clifftop viewpoints above the plateau, and a cave you climb into by a short iron ladder. Partway round, you stop on a rock terrace at the edge of the plateau. Out comes the cooler bag: champagne, grapes, cheese and charcuterie, served above the treetops with nobody hurrying you. Then a short drive to Echternach for the Wolf's Gorge, saved for last on purpose — the walls close in until they nearly meet overhead, the strongest single sight in the region. Two places, done slowly, rather than a checklist of viewpoints.
